Families of sequences with good family complexity and cross-correlation measure

In this paper we study pseudorandomness of a family of sequences in terms of two measures, the family complexity ($f$-complexity) and the cross-correlation measure of order $\ell$. We consider sequences not only on binary alphabet but also on $k$-symbols ($k$-ary) alphabet. We first generalize some known methods on construction of the family of binary pseudorandom sequences. We prove a bound on the $f$-complexity of a large family of binary sequences of Legendre-symbols of certain irreducible polynomials. We show that this family as well as its dual family have both a large family complexity and a small cross-correlation measure up to a rather large order. Next, we present another family of binary sequences having high $f$-complexity and low cross-correlation measure. Diversities Between the Regulations of Turkish Accounting Standard Setters: A Brief History of Turkiye’s Twentieth Century Accounting Standardization Applications

This study examines the evolution of Turkish accounting standards to ascertain the extent of differences in Turkiye’s accounting practices among the different governmental Standard setter’s regulations during the twentieth century. The research results show that the accounting standards had set by the public corporates own self as parallel to economic policies of Turkish Ministry of Finance and money policies of Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye before the establishment of Turkish Accounting and Auditing Standards Board in 1994. On the other hand in the last two decades of twentieth century the specific standards had set by the Ministry of Finance for tax reporting companies and Capital Markets Board of Turkiye for financial reporting companies have the significant differences.Standardization; Accounting in Turkiye

Ecological properties and close relationships of some Scilla L. Taxa (asparagaceae) in Turkey

Ecological properties of some Scilla L. taxa [S. bifolia L., S. melaina Speta, S. siberica Haw. subsp. armena (Grossh.) Mordak, S. leepii Speta, S. ingridae Speta, S. mesopotamica Speta, S. autumnalis L., S. monanthos C. Koch., S. rosenii C. Koch. and S. cilicica Siehe] were compared and relationships among taxa were determined. S.leepii and S. mesopotamica are endemic to Turkey. Because of various reasons, S. melaina, S. leepii, S. ingridae, S. mesopotamica, S. monanthos, S. siberica subsp. armena, S. rosenii and S. cilicica have limited distribution in Turkey. The investigated taxa have fragrant flowers, so are used as ornamental plant in gardens, parks and balconies in Turkey. Soil samples of the taxa were taken in flowering periods and physical and chemical properties (texture class, % of total salinity, pH, % of CaCO3, % of organic matter, % of total N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Mn, Cu, Fe and Zn (in mg/kg) were determined. According to the similarities and differences in ecological characteristics, the taxa were divided into four groups. 1st group: S. melaina, S. leepii, S. ingridae and S. mesopotamica; 2nd group: S. siberica subsp. armena and S. cilicica; 3rd group: S. bifolia and S. autumnalis; 4th group: S. rosenii and S. monanthos. From the data, it has been found that organic matter, N, P, K, Ca, Fe and Zn values are more effective than the other soil factors in the distributions of the investigated taxa. © 2018 Friends Science Publishers

Bullous Pemphigoid

Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is a chronic, acquired, autoimmune bullous disease characterized by subepidermal bullae. It is usually seen in the elderly but, rarely, may also be seen in children. Autoantibodies against hemidesmosomal proteins BP230 (BPAG1) and BP180 (BPAG2 or type XVII collagen) are blamed for the pathogenesis. Clinically, it is characterized by large, tense blisters. Blisters can occur on normal skin or erythematous base with a predilection of flexural aspects of the limbs, abdomen, groin and axillae. Mucous membrane involvement is seen in about 10–35% of the patients. For treatment, general maintenance of BP patients is the first step. Systemic steroids are the common treatment agents. But localized disease can be treated successfully with topical corticosteroids. The common immunosuppressive agents are azathioprine, mycophenolate mofetil, methotrexate, chlorambucil and less often cyclophosphamide. In a minority of resistant cases, intravenous immunoglobulins, plasma exchange, anti-CD20 immunotherapy (rituximab), leflunomide, chlorambucil and methotrexate may be effective

Evaluation of Peer Instruction Practices in Accordance with Students’ Views

This study was carried out in order to determine the views of the students about the course material prepared with the Peer Instruction Method in accordance with magnetism. Studies conducted for this purpose are defined as case studies in the literature.The sample of the study consisted of a group of 30 students in 10th grade who were studying at Ordu Science High School during the 2015-2016 academic year. The practice lasted four weeks, 2 hours per week. The data of the study was derived from Attitude Survey, semi-structured interviews, open-ended questions for observations and the observations themselves. The quantitative data obtained in the study were analyzed by the qualitative content analysis method with the help of the SPSS program. At the end of the Peer Instruction Method, it was determined that the students' attitude questionnaire post test scores (X = 130.9) increased and their increase was statistically significant (t = -7.22; p <.05) compared to the pre-test scores (X = 101.46). When the results of the students' opinions and observations are analyzed in detail, the results of the classes conducted by the Peer Instruction Methodology reveals that the students have increased their confidence, improved their ability to comment, have active participation in the classes and have become fun. According to the results obtained with this study, some suggestions were made to the researcher on behalf of the use of different topics in physics considering the positive effect of the Method of Peer Instruction.
